You soak it in water for two minutes and it expands and absorb the water and keeps your head remarkably cool. I work as an aircraft mechanic working in a hot hanger at times. I have found this to be a really great product along with the blue towel they also make for your neck.

Purchased this for fiance and received it in a timely manner....day one he used it and loved it helped him keep cool while working outside...and then day 2 he went to use it and the gel from the inside started leaking out everywhere...very disappointed.

Received the four cooling bandanas and everything looked good until I put all four of them in water and one of them was leaking (oozing) a substance out of it so I threw it away. One bad one out of four isn't bad....I guess.
