Sure, your coat has to keep you warm, but why stop there? The Brawny Jacket has 15 diverse pockets designed with zippers, ergonomic snaps, and vents to prevent debris build up. The thick cotton canvas also has a breathable mesh liner to keep you comfortable. Combine all that technology and pocket space with the By-swing back for easy overhead reaching, and you have a jacket worthy of James Bond.

I bought this to wear while riding. Excellent, for the price you can't beat this jacket. I did wash & dry it to start softening it up and I added NicWax water repellant. I also bought the jacket 1 size bigger than I normally wear so I can add a liner for colder days. Great jacket.
This jacket is extremely well built. It’s probably the heaviest coat I own. I like the pocket layout, in the chest area you can fit large tools etc.
Just received my jacket and I love it! Found it hard to get a clear answer about the fit on this jacket, well I highly recommend ordering one size larger for a true fit and if you plan on wearing lots of layers order two sizes larger.
I usually wear a size 3xl, ordered a 4xl and it fits good, maybe a little snug in the gut area lol.
Build quality on this jacket is amazing, it is triple stitched in high wear areas.
It is very comfortable, not like some work jackets I've owned in the past. I wear it for personal use as well as work. I get complimented on it daily.
I did research on these jackets and this site is the best price I found. If you were on the fence about ordering these jackets like I was they are well worth the price and take my advice on ordering one/two sizes up.
I'm a pilot and I appreciate the extra pockets. The jacket fits well and I get complements on its looks. A zip out liner would have been nice.
This coat is great. Lots of pockets that work. Heavy canvas to stand up to the industrial environments that I am in and withstand welding and grinding sparks. I was comfortable in the low thirties and a 20 mph wind coming off Galveston Bay. The canvas is very stiff as you would expect but became much softer after just one wash.
Love all of my BlakLader gear. I've been a fan for many years, and I can see buying more in the future as well. A+++++
The pockets are small. Not quite what I was led to believe from the photo of the jacket. The handwarmer pockets are about 7 in by 7 in, but over the handwarmer are about 4 in wide by 6 in deep. The flap over these pockets suggested they were the same size as the handwarmer, but they are not -- they are longer by about an inch than the pocket is wide.
Also not shown by the photo is that there is a little "tail" or flap extension that makes the back of the jacket about two inches longer than the front.
The handwarmer pockets are the real disappointment.
The breast pockets are like the handwarmer pockets in that they have a side opening on the medial side -- toward the center -- of the pocket, which is closed by a zipper. This pocket is also about 7x7. The outer pockets are also small: The left-hand side divided into two narrower pockets about 2 inches wide each, and the right-hand pocket is about 4 inches wide. There are also two inside pockets -- one on either side, velcro closed, about 6 in wide by 7 in deep. Large enough to hold a 1/2 in pocketbook.
Out of the package, the material is stiff and needs some breaking in.
I really didn't want the breast pockets, but for the price, I thought I'd give it a try since the price is good. If this is what you are looking for -- small pockets and all -- then it's a good deal.
I gave it 3 stars because of the inadequate description.
It's stiff and heavy. Probably not for everyone. Will never need to be replaced. Great protection.
Awesome jacket with great build quality, it was exactly what I was looking for!
The best working jacket.
We went with Blaklader for our maintenance department uniforms and couldn't be happier. Sturdy and functional. Plus all the other departments are jealous of our jackets.
I just got this and it seems to be a very good quality jacket, especially for the money. Tons of pockets and brass zippers. It's made of heavy canvas duck. Although it is not insulated it does have a thin breathable lining that gives it a finished look on the inside. It's a little stiff right now but It will break in. I wear a large so I ordered a large and it fits perfectly, however, if you plan on layering-up with a hoodie and such then you should probably order a size over. Also, I am only 5'7 and the length is perfect for me. I'm not sure if the length would work for a tall person.
I bought this as a spring motorcycle riding jacket and it is fantastic. Thick canvas keeps the wind out and it can zip up just under my chin beneath my helmet to keep my neck warm. Plenty of pocket space for phone, gloves, etc. I honestly wear it more often than my very expensive leather jacket now. I did as others suggested and went up a size to XL, but had to return it for an L. Staff was helpful and had no problems with my return. Highly recommended.
Very good quality. Arrived promptly. Size runs small, ordered one size larger than needed and fits perfectly.
Excellent quality and durability. Love all the different pockets. The only draw back is the main zipper which is a little difficult to zip up.
Just what I was looking for. Durable, rugged and good looking. Fine fit. Stiff but breaking in nicely.
love this jacket, long tail in the back covers up for winter. Tough outer shell. first size was too small to fit my fleece underneath.
Jacket arrived folded 2x-but no creases beyond normal. Black jacket is canvas tarp thick. Waist line falls over belt line (assuming no beer gut) I am 5'6" so any untucked shirt easily hang below jacket line. Rear/backside has extended 2 inch tail to cover belt line as you bend down/over. It can still feel drafty back there-just be mindful of others :).
Fairly stiff collar and tail will need break in. Jacket seams are stiff as new canvas expected- Hoodie underneath improves overall feel. Not a cozy feel in short sleeves. Not 100% waterproof. Heavy snow or rain will make jacket heavier. Well built-yes. Pockets are set up well for work gloves and cell phone. Some pockets are buttons some have zippers. Jacket does not button-up in front. Zips up only. All Snaps/buttons are simple to do with gloves. Again, expect some break in time to soften canvas seams etc. Black jacket collar will show sweat line from neck. Beard dandruff/dry skin shows up on collar/chest pockets as well. This work jacket that can be stylish enough for most date nights. Kinds looks like a motorcycle jacket.

Not had it all that long, but it has all the pockets I need, the design is good and it feels like it will stand up to a lot of hard use. If I had to say something negative, the openings on some of the pockets are a little small, but that is the only fault I can find.
Like all Blaklader products I have tried, this jacket is great. It is well designed even with darts in the sleeves to form a slightly bent arm position which is the natural position of the human arm at rest. Quality assembly also.
Pockets galore. It the perfect jacket for work it the field. It has zippered pockets for my phone, pen holder pockets, and snap closure keeps outer pockets closed and secure. Very durable construction and keeps you warm.
Great jacket! Looks good, comfortable, tough and loads of storage!
